Currently in a wireless equipped coffee shop on White Ave... which counts as Edmonton's 'alternative' area.

Today's shopping list of some last minute camping things includes a bear-proof food container.

I'm really not feeling 100% about this trip.

M'friend who wanders around Canada a lot says bears don't bother you if you don't bother them[0]. She tried to get one to eat her brother but it just wasn't interested. However they do, apparently, nick food like Yogi, so the bear-proof lunchbox sounds useful. Actually they sound rather like New Forest ponies - I once left my tent with food in it for just a few minutes and on return it was flattened and covered in hoofprints.
